i'm joely

I am an aspiring writer, currently studying Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. I am interested in working in the publishing industry, as well as promoting my own work to the world!

It is my goal to make this a space dedicated to displaying various pieces of my work with pride.

When I'm not writing, I'm reading or playing cosy games like Stardew Valley and Sims 4.

I live on the outskirts of Bath with my two beautiful golden retrievers, Sunny and Honey.

I have a serious obsession with candles and tote bags.

An empty bathtub is a great spot to read (just try it).

Since the moment my mum put a book in

my lap, books have become a huge part of

my life. Whilst I have come a long way from

the little girl who found a home in Tolkien's

hobbit holes, and Lewis' apple-wood wardrobe to Narnia, my desire to dive deeper into the world of literature has only strengthened over time...

My dream to become an author has felt so out of reach so often, but it's my nana's last letter to me that has kept me going. My nana would always push me to keep creating, and I can only hope I will make her proud in the future.

'Live as you dream' reminds me to never give up, and to always keep writing.

From scribbling down poetry or plot ideas to spending hours in a darkroom over a single photo or developing and editing my sixth form magazine, I have come to develope a great attention to detail, a mature and serious ethic, and I love to explore new and experimental methods for an eye-catching result.

My experience editing for my sixth form magazine, running my own creative writing club and working in a coffee shop has helped me gain confidence to work alongside a team and provide a welcoming atmosphere for people.
